    Delivery times:
Cipolla shop items are made and ready to ship. Packages leave my workshop within 1-3 days from the time of your order and include tracking.

    • Folks in Canada: shipping is typically a few days within Ontario, and about a week in Canada generally.

    • Folks in the USA: typical delivery is about a week, or 4-8 business days. You do not need to pay extra duties/tariffs. I include certifications to help ensure a smooth process.

    • Folks outside Canada & USA: delivery is usually within a couple weeks, but it can really vary depending on country, from 7-27 business days.

Combining Shipping from Etsy: Due to the One-of-a-Kind nature of my pieces, I cannot have items in two places, but if you are interested in purchasing something from my Etsy shop I am happy to combine shipping with items here in my independent shop. Simply contact me to set that up for you. Thank you!

  • omg are you in Brantford too?!

If you are/will be in the area and would like to pick-up your order, that is great. A pick-up option will be available at check-out when shipping is calculated. I will email you to confirm pick-up time & precise address (Brantford, Ontario, Canada).

  • Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in commissioning something custom.

  • I provide a non-gendered size range such as Small/Medium (S/M) for a quick reference when browsing, but the actual measurements of the garment are key and are provided for each individual item.

Gender-free size labels can be unclear. Typically a Women’s Small assumes certain measurements, while a Men’s Small will be inches more, and in different places. So when something is labeled Unisex Small, which is it based on? (spoiler… most unisex sizing is just mens’).

I’m an idealistic sort, so I try to balance between. But if you’re used to men’s sizing you may find Cipolla sizes a bit smaller, and if you’re used to women’s sizing you might find them a little larger, so please check the measurements.

  • If an item didn’t work, I do accept returns. Please contact me within two weeks of receiving your order to arrange. Items must be in unused/original condition, shipped by customer with tracking & insurance.

Since almost everything is one of a kind, I cannot offer a direct exchange (ie: that jacket in a different size). However, I can offer a shop credit, or a refund for the original item price.

Custom work and sale items are not returnable.

  • OOAK: One Of A Kind (only one made)

    Vintage: From before the 2000’s

Antique: Around a century old, or more

    Repurposed/Upcycled: Materials from a pre-existing product (ie: second-hand clothing).

Remnant: A piece of fabric that I did not purchase new (ie: from estate sale).

Salvaged: Material taken from “garbage” / otherwise unusable item (ie: hardware from a ruined bag)

New: Materials I purchase new from store/supplier.

Selvedge: The original edge of a piece of fabric, often a different colour/texture, and sometimes featuring fibre/manufacturer details.

  • Most of the materials used in Cipolla items are repurposed, second-hand, or vintage. There may be some wear, small marks & imperfections in the fabric. I am careful to remove any obvious issues (large tears/stains) or mend/cover smaller issues.

Before using them, all fabrics are washed by me with fragrance & dye free detergents/softeners.

I aim to provide fabric content as precisely as possible. When materials don’t have original tag/labels and I am unsure, I do a burn test. This classic method is great to determine natural fabrics (cotton, wool, linen) vs synthetics (polyester, nylon). Blended fabrics are not clear, so materials may be listed as such (ie: wool blend, or synthetic blend).

  • Cipolla [chee - pol - la] means onion in Italian. It was a nickname I had when I was young, and now sort of represents the layering of all things.
